Caregivers (CIVS)

CIVS Mission Statement: “Caregivers, Interfaith Volunteers of Springfield (CIVS) is a network of religious congregations and community agencies who through groups of trained volunteers assist the frail elderly and their families maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life and prevent unnecessary institutionalization.” This program, coordinated through St. John’s Hospital Third Age Living, works through partner churches to provide volunteer help for older adults and their families. New volunteers are always needed. Individuals needing assistance or wishing to volunteer should contact the Parish Office.

Ministry to the Homebound

Lay persons, either men or women, who take Holy Communion to shut-ins and to nursing homes. Contact: Sister Linda Sue Noe, O.P.

Pro-Life Committee

This group works and prays for the respect for life at all stages and ages and for the abolishment of abortion, euthanasia, and capital punishment.

Social Concerns

A committee that provides opportunities for each parishioner to fulfill his/her responsibility to become familiar with the social teaching of the church, to serve people in need, and to work for social change.
